Get a practical view of Industry 4.0 and IIoT

Most maintenance professionals are aware of Industry 4.0 and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) in theory. However, applying them in practice is still somewhat elusive.

Martin Davis, the managing partner of DUNELM Associates, and Jim Gavigan, president of Industrial Insight Inc., present a practical view of these two interrelated concepts. They described how a historian-system was expanded with a bi-directional interface between it and real-time systems. It now evaluates multiple parameters to provide a more complete picture of asset health.

Furthermore, they explain how a customer was able to transform a manual compliance report that took eight hours a month into an automated real-time reporting solution.
