Repair/replace and resource strategies for your asset life cycle management

Reliability engineer and consultant Lucas Marino discusses using Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) for evaluating the resource mix and repair-or-replace strategies for your asset life cycle management. He outlines the benefits of LORA for determining the most effective maintenance and support philosophy needed throughout the asset lifecycle. His presentation also includes the essential data elements required to perform a LORA, as well as key challenges of this analytical effort.

Dr. Lucas Marino is an engineering project manager and educator. He specializes in reliability engineering, logistics engineering, project management, and training systems development. He is the Senior Reliability Engineer and Logistics Program Manager at BMT, a multi-disciplinary consulting firm providing engineering and technical services in the maritime and environmental sectors.

Dr. Marino served 21 years in the U.S. Coast Guard and is experienced at all levels of the shipboard maintenance chain from propulsion mechanic to Chief Engineer. He also served as a Port Engineer, Naval Engineering Workforce and Policy Manager at Coast Guard Headquarters, and as Branch Chief of the Coast Guard’s Engineering and Weapons School.
