Sustaining Effective Inventory Processes

With businesses seeking to do more and more with less and less, many are choosing to downsize their maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) inventory management department–or eliminate it entirely–leaving the maintenance staff to fend for themselves to manage the MRO inventory.

In rare cases, this transition goes well, but too often, the MRO inventory environment quickly degrades, costing the company dearly in lost maintenance productivity, increased downtime, and rising MRO purchasing spend coming from a “just in case” buying mentality.

During this session, guest speaker Dan Floen, President of Professional Materials Management, Inc. (PM2), presents the critical success factors for establishing and sustaining a world class MRO inventory environment. The key points include:

1) Educate the team on what success looks like and cast the vision
2) Empower the team to establish ownership
3) Equip the team for success by installing a world-class physical environment, building rich inventory data, applying cutting edge tools, and more
4) Excel in inventory management by establishing effective SOP’s and measuring results
