How maintenance teams can benefit from handheld vibration tools and sensors

It is well known in the maintenance and reliability industry that vibration monitoring is one of the most efficient ways to predict rotating asset failure or downtime before it happens. And vibration screening has come a long way from handheld tools to now include wireless, remote sensors that operate 24/7, providing continuous data from anywhere in a facility.

There are many benefits to be had when using vibration sensor technology in your maintenance and reliability operations, most of which are listed in the infographic below. However, as you’ll learn, both handheld tools and wireless sensors have a place in most plants. Additionally, combining that technology with a computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) system yields the best results in any predictive maintenance program.

When paired with a CMMS, predictive maintenance empowers teams to define boundaries for acceptable equipment operation, import readings, graph results and automatically trigger an email or generate a work order when boundaries are exceeded.

Check out the infographic below for a more detailed look at how your team could benefit from predictive maintenance and vibration screening using handheld tools and/or wireless sensors.
